Step Three

Learn your software well. Know how to use it and all the extras. Keep in mind that even though many of the extras, such as the transitions with screen wipes and flips are fun, you can overdo them. Keep your transitions to a minimum.

Step Four

Burn your montage onto DVD. If you don’t possess a burner on your laptop or desktop, then you should purchase one. Many software programs allow you to burn an image on top of the DVD. People will enjoy having a special DVD with their loved one’s picture and text on it.

Step Five

Check with your local government about setting up your business. There may be applications to fill out and fees to be paid. Determine what your requirements are for beginning a new business. You may need to be licensed and bonded. Some states require you to register with the state as well.

Step Six

If you can afford to spend money on marketing, then you should consider creating a website to showcase your work. Upload your best work for an online portfolio. Add a shopping cart to your website to encourage transactions online.

Have color brochures printed, presenting many photos of different age groups you have taken. Make sure you have personalized business cards made.
